Jamboree on the Internet 1997
We took part in JOTI from the University of Teesside,
School of Computing and Mathematics where
we had access to IRC, web browsers and e-mail.
The event was hosted by the 1st Wilton group who were joined by members of
2nd Normanby and 9th Redcar. We were unable to stay " on air
" overnight when the buildings were locked, however we were active from 06:30 (BST)
through to 21:30 on Saturday and 06:30 through to 21:00 on Sunday.
Much fun was had chatting via the IRC, with conversations held with groups in: Holland,
Canada, Brazil, Australia and Portugal.
Email messages were sent and received from many countries and 9th Redcar were sent these
two pictures via e-mail.

badges.

We will took part in JOTA in conjunction with the 40th Middlesbrough Troop at their
base in Marton.
